Dean W. Charron is an air traffic controller with the Federal
Aviation Administration at Bradley Approach Control (TRACON)
in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. Dean started with the FAA
in 1981 and previously worked at the Burbank Control Tower
and TRACON in Burbank, California. Dean has been a licensed
pilot since 1971 and currently flies a 1968 Cessna Cardinal.

BALLOONING
Tom Hamilton is a commerical pilot with ratings in helicopters
and hot air balloons. Hamilton has been flying since 1970,
organized fourteen hot air balloon safety seminars since
1983 and been a featured speaker at many more. In 1985 he
founded Balloon Life Magazine, the leading source for information
about ballooning in the United States covering the sport
of ballooning in-depth. Each issue contains techincal/educational
articles and there is an Annual Balloon Buyer's Guide of
all U.S. certificated balloon manufacturers.

Gary Rominger has been chasing balloons since first attending
the Reno Balloon Race in 1984. A BFA certified Crew Chief
with well over 100 documented chases, Gary initiated and
has written the Crew Quarters column for Balloon Life Magazine,

J. Bruce Rickli has been flying a Beech King Air C90 for the
U.S. Silica Company of Berkeley Springs, WV as a Corporate
Pilot since 1991, . U.S. Silica has been a long standing
member of the NBAA (National Business Aircraft Association)
and for the last two years Bruce has been an active member
of the Operations Committee, which has given him a broad
understanding of many issues facing corporate aviation.

INSTRUCTION
Bruce Conway has a commercial license w/CFII rating, flying
since 1978, about 1200 hrs total time (probably 3/4 of that
in his own airplane, a Piper Warrior.) He has a Ph. D. in
Aeronautics & Astronautics from Stanford (1980) and has
been teaching at U of Illinois at Urbana since then. Bruce
teaches mostly courses related to spaceflight but occasionally
teaches a course on basics of control theory incl. an introduction
to airplane stability and control.

HANG
GLIDING
Bob Mackey started flying hanggliders in 1982 and got
serious in 1986. Since then he has flown about 1500 hours
in a wide range of conditions. His longest flight was in
1990 in the Owens Valley: 195 miles in 8.5 hours. The same
year, he won the Chelan XC Classic, and took second at the
Colorado Regionals. Bob has flown in the Nationals twice,
placing middle of the pack both times. For the last six
years, he has been participating in the hang gliding discussion
group on the Internet, and edited the most recent version
of the FAQ. Presently he is trying to complete my Ph.D.
in Materials Science.

Joseph Gregor holds an ATP (1990), Commercial MEL (1983),
LR-JET type rating (1987). He entered the Air Force via
ROTC in 1983 and received pilot training at Columbus AFB,
MS with first assingment to Langley AFB, VA. Joseph made
Aircraft Commander in C-21's and went on to 552 AWACW at
Tinker AFB, OK in 1987. Thereafter he trained as Aircraft
Commander and assigned to 964 AWACS. Currently off active
duty flying a desk at the Pentagon (Air Force Reserves),
working on PhD research at the Naval Research Laboratory,
and (very) occasionally flying hang gliders.

Rob Erdos is an experimental test pilot and graduate
of the US Naval Test Piloting School. He has a degree in
Mechanical Engineering, and holds both fixed-wing and helicopter
Air Transport Licences. He recieved his wings in the Canadian
Air Force, and flew operationally as a Search and Rescue
Pilot, followed by a tour as an engineer test pilot with
the Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment, in Cold Lake,
Alberta. He is now with the Flight Research Laboratory of
the National Research Council of Canada, and is engaged
